The Silva Scout 2XT uses Silva light beam technology that optimises the light pattern; giving less head movements, better control and improved balance by combining long reach spot light and close flood light. Its battery level indicator informs you about the remaining charge level when the headlamp is turned off, and its red night vision mode, in addition to white light, is designed to preserve night vision. Needed a good quality head light for railway operations at night. Unit appears robust and well made. Battery compartment is nice and secure. Two main light levels are useful, I found low level to be adequate for most situations. On/off button needs a firm push, hard with soft gloves on. The headband fits securely. Night light (red) setting can be handy in my situation to show train driver a red/no go light whilst shunting. Position adjuster is positive and doesn’t move during use. It would be nicer if initial switch on was to low level first rather than high in my situation. Very happy with purchase and prompt delivery.
