I ride mountain bikes before dawn and I needed a right angle light to attach to my handlebars (with the Olight FB-1 bike mount). The HL3A is perfect. Turbo does step down rather quickly – within about a minute – but the high setting is more than adequate for pitch-black riding for at least 90 minutes. The large button is also really accesible when using gloves.
I haven’t even used this as a headlamp yet – but the strap is sturdy and wide that I’ve used it for other headlamps. Very versatile.
