Led Headlamps have come a long way in the last few years changing from incandescent bulbs to high output efficient Cree LED chips. These headlamps have gone from outputting 20-30 lumens a few years ago to LED Headlamps that can now produce 500 + lumens. One of the biggest differences in headlamps is the battery type. Standard AA or AAA headlamps are suitable for light use like camping or general purpose but when you need a headlamp for work application that will run at a high outputs for long periods of time you need to look at units that run on Lithium Ion batteries as the voltage is much higher in these batteries. Headlamps run with Lithium Ion batteries are much more suitable for people working in industries where headlamps are needed for these long periods of time.
